OPERATOR TECHNOLOGY AWARDS
This category is open to operators who deliver an outstanding online experience for customers. We are looking for evidence of an exceptional experience across multiple platforms, incorporating details of design and functionality developed to address customer requirements and increase conversions. Particular notice will be taken of innovations made in the last 12 months. 
 
Best hotel user experience 
This award seeks to recognise those operators that have delivered an outstanding online experience for an individual hotel or group of hotels. Judges will be looking for a combination of outstanding aesthetics and usability, along with evidence of an increase in traffic and conversions.
Account will be taken of:
Quality of design and attention paid to enhancing the user experience 
Efficiency of booking process and evidence of increased conversions or value
Evidence of success of the website within the market
Performance across multiple devices
Level of innovation and originality
 
Best restaurant/pub user experience 
This award seeks to recognise those restaurant and pub operators that have delivered an outstanding online experience for an individual site or group. Judges will be looking for a combination of outstanding aesthetics and usability, along with evidence of an increase in traffic and conversions
Account will be taken of:
Quality of design and attention paid to enhancing the user experience
Evidence of success in terms of key performance indicators for the project
Level of innovation and originality measured against hospitality community
Impact on business performance
 
Best foodservice user experience 
This award seeks to recognise those foodservice operators that have delivered an outstanding online experience for an individual site or business. Judges will be looking for a combination of outstanding aesthetics and functionality.
Account will be taken of:
Quality of design and attention paid to enhancing the user experience
Evidence of success in terms of key performance indicators for the project
Level of innovation and originality in the market
Impact on business performance
 
APPLICATION SOFTWARE AWARDS
This category is open to operators who have developed, or enhanced, an app in the last 12 months. The judges will be looking for evidence of outstanding functionality and design features, resulting in an increase in traffic, conversion and downloads. 

 

App of the year
We will be looking for evidence of innovation in the market and engagement with the audience.
Account will be taken of:
• Evidence of success against a pre-defined strategic approach
• Efforts taken to engage with the customer
• Efficiency of booking process
• Innovation in design and functionality

 
DIGITAL DEVELOPMENT AWARDS
This category will recognise the operators and technology firms who have demonstrated digital innovation in the entry period. The judges will be looking for details of a new or improved system, with data to support the business case for its success. 
 

Booking system of the year
This award will recognise the operator (including hotels and restaurants) and/or technology provider who has seen success with a new or improved booking system. The winning entry is likely to have seen significant growth in the period, driven by the innovative technology.
Account will be taken of:
• Originality of design and features
• Efficiency of booking process
• Evidence of success of the new or improved system
• Overall user experience

Digital achievement/innovation award 
This award will recognise a business which has made a significant impact to their operation through the development of a digital product or initiative. We are looking for an innovative idea or piece of technology that has made a real impact to the customer experience, business performance or overall operation.
Account will be taken of:
Originality of innovation
Level of innovation and its impact on the business
Existence of a clear business case for the product or initiative and demonstrable results
 
 
DIGITAL MARKETING AWARDS
This category is open to marketing campaigns in a range of disciplines. We are looking for best practice in the sector, whether it is agencies running campaigns on behalf of clients, the work of in-house teams or a combination of both. 
 
Digital marketing campaign of the year (operator) 
This award will recognise the hotel, restaurant, foodservice operator or pub, either as a group or an individual site, that has run the most successful digital marketing campaign during the judging period. We’re looking for creative use of visual and/or written content, wide engagement, and evidence of business success.
Account will be taken of:
Scope of the campaign and evidence of engagement
Creativity of campaign
Overall success of the campaign in terms of conversions
Innovative use of multiple channels
 
Best use of social media/interactive engagement (operator) 
This award will be given to the hotel, restaurant, foodservice operator or pub that has excelled in its use of social media channels. Particular notice will be made of increased engagement in the last 12 months and a demonstrable impact on business. 
Account will be taken of:
Originality of engagement techniques, driving a more personalised approach
Innovative use of channels to enhance the message and engagement
Integration of work into overall marketing campaign
Evidence of success relative to key performance indicators set for the project

This award will recognise the supplier that has run the most successful digital marketing campaign during the judging period. We’re looking for creative use of visual and/or written content, wide engagement, and evidence of business success.

These awards will recognise the supplier that has best served the hospitality industry in the period through digital innovation and creativity
 
Recruitment website of the year 
This award seeks to recognise the recruitment site that has delivered an outstanding online experience during the last 12 months. This can be based on improved design features, an increase in traffic, or the introduction of innovative tools or functionality. 
Account will be taken of:
Quality of design and attention paid to enhancing the user experience
Evidence of success in terms of key performance indicators for the project
Level of innovation and originality measured against the wider web community
Overall user experience
 
Food or drink supplier website of the year 
This award seeks to recognise the food and drink suppliers that have delivered an outstanding online experience for hospitality operators. Judges will be looking for a combination of outstanding functionality, information provision and aesthetics.
Account will be taken of:
Quality of design and attention paid to enhancing the user experience
Outstanding information provision for operators, such as allergen details and the like
Level of innovation and originality in the market
Overall user experience
 
Equipment website of the year 
 This award seeks to recognise the equipment supplier that has delivered an outstanding online experience for hospitality operators. Judges will be looking for a combination of outstanding functionality, information provision and aesthetics.
Account will be taken of:
Quality of design and attention paid to enhancing the user experience
Outstanding information provision for operators in terms of energy efficiency and the like
Level of innovation and originality in the market
Overall user experience
 
 
RISING STAR AWARD
This award is to recognise an employee in a hospitality business that has made a significant impact on that business through their innovation and technological prowess. Colleagues are encouraged to nominate someone they think is ‘one to watch’ and who has not been recognised so far in their career. The candidate can be from any discipline within a hospitality operation. Nominations should demonstrate their innovation, flair and business acumen. 
 
WEBSITE EXPERIENCE OF THE YEAR
This award will be presented to the overall winner of the Operator Technology awards.
